I've always enjoyed collecting from nature. Collecting sea shells from the beach or collecting seed pods from plants and trees. There is always something new from wherever I've been that makes me wonder if I can make jewelry to wear out of what I find. The earrings in this photo came about when I collected this material, leaves from Dracaena Draco leaves, to make baskets. These earrings are only a small part of the long one to two foot leaves. The orange part is only on the end of the leaf that is attached to the trunk of the tree. One time I had some damaged leaves where only the good part was the orange part. I thought, maybe, I could make earrings out of that part, and so I did. If I like the results I try wearing them myself to see if people make comments that they like them. When people comment or complement me on my earrings I make more to sell. These are one of my most popular earrings.
