Century plants are semi arid type plants that send up a large flower stalk from the middle of a mature plant. Eventually these flowers develope big seed pods that dry and harden like wood. Periodically people give me things from their yard and one day a woman gave me a large bag of these seed pods. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them but one day when I looked at them I got the idea of making earrings. That's why I love collecting all kinds of materials from nature. The pods vary in size and so the smaller ones are perfect for earrings.
